Sarah Montague
Associate
Sarah grew up in Clintonville and has been a lifelong resident of Central Ohio. She is proud to live and work and contribute to the community that raised her.
She is grateful for the opportunities that she has had to travel both domestically and internationally. She loves visiting friends out west in California and Colorado. She has also gotten the opportunity to visit Taiwan, Mexico, South Africa, and the UK while catching up with her more adventurous brother and his family. She is also looking forward to her fiancé’s hometown Deheradun at the foothills of the Himalayas in India. She tries to bring the experiences and an understanding for a wider range of cultures and people back with her travels.
Sarah joined mode architects in 2024 bringing almost 8 years of experience working in architecture with her. She has experience in commercial, retail, and residential design. Some of her favorite projects have been renovations or rehab projects of existing buildings. She finds it exciting to revitalize and bring new life into an older space.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking a wide range of vegetarian dishes. She also has a love of board games and has monthly meet ups with friends for a board game day. She ties her love of board games into her love of design and is always looking at each design as a new puzzle.
Beyond the Bio
What is your favorite thing about your career?
I enjoy the different challenges that architecture offers daily. Each project offers a different set of problems and different design possibilities. It is a career that continues to be intellectually stimulating, always offering new design puzzles and different opportunities to engage with current and traditional culture.
What are your hobbies?
I really enjoy cooking. It is a hobby that allows me to both care and bring joy to friends and family. It can also be an opportunity to problem solve and challenge myself. I enjoy playing a game of “what’s in the pantry” where I try to make a different dish from what’s on hand in the house. My fiance, Luv, is gratuitous enough to pretend he enjoys most of it.
Is your glass half full or half empty?
Half empty. But like a crow I’m enjoying throwing stones and do-dads into the mix until I can get water to the point I need to reach the treat.
